As the Director of Day Programs at Bristol Adult Resource Center, Lori Teller partners with the Assistant Directors to set the strategic vision and direction of BARC’s Day Programs to make a lasting impact on our individuals. Over the past 5 years, Lori has championed change and growth by expanding recreational services, increasing Day program options available to BARC’s individuals, and developing leadership at every level of the organization. Lori joined BARC in 2000 as a Direct Support Professional. She has over 20 years of experience providing leadership across Day and Residential programs to create opportunities for independence for the individuals BARC serves. Among her many accomplishments, opening a 5 bed CLA in 2008 is one of them. Lori was recognized for her leadership when she received the “Lights of Love” 2015 award by Bristol Hospital Hospice for the excellent care that was given to one of BARC’s individuals on hospice. When Lori isn’t found at BARC, she can be found taking road trips to Maine to visit her family.
“I love the feeling knowing I can make a difference in our individual’s lives, whether big or small. It’s sometimes the littlest of things that brings the biggest smiles and that is awesome!”
