Cheryl McNeal has been a part of Bristol Adult Resource Center for 20 years and has over 30 years’ experience in the Human Services field, currently as our Director of Quality Assurance. Cheryl formerly served as the Director of Residential Services, overseeing the needs of all BARC’s Residential individuals across 12 homes (8 CRS and 4 CLA) throughout the Bristol area.
Her experience as the daughter of one of the first teachers for special education in the town of Southington gave her early exposure to the population she would eventually dedicate her life to. Her journey to becoming “Residential Employee of the Year” began when she started at BARC in the Dining Room as a DSP.
She is a strong advocate for the individuals she works with; both in her personal and professional life. She is involved in Special Olympics, Relay for Life and has been a part of various advocacy and respite programs. When she isn’t at BARC, she is running her small business with her husband as a seamstress or is found in her garden with a good book!
“Nothing can replace the absolute joy I receive from the individuals I serve. From the day I first started, I felt like I was in the right place!”
